ACRIN, ECOG, NCI intent to merge their clinical malignancy research programs The American College of Radiology’s Imaging Network and the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group , National Cancers Institute Clinical Trials Cooperative Group members, today announced their intent to merge their clinical cancer research programs. The combined groups intend to form an alliance that combines their complementary strengths. The new organization will include three areas of research emphasis: early detection and diagnosis of tumor; biomarker-driven Stage II and Phase III therapeutic studies for multiple cancer types and stages; and genetic, imaging and molecular marker research to predict and monitor treatment response.Specifically, immunodeficient individuals are more likely to build up complications caused by live-virus vaccines. By adulthood, a lot of people know whether they have an immune system problem, and the ones who do will not receive flu shots.
